OUR STORY
In 2018, Aire Eterno began in the heart of the Enciso community, a neighborhood in the mountains of Medellin, Colombia.
Mrs. Amparo, a middle-aged mother who heard from God that children were the best and fastest way to spread the gospel in her community, began a small bible study in her home. She gathered about 5 to 10 children every week and taught them the Bible, sang songs, and played games. Horacio, her loving husband had built their home a couple of years earlier despite family opposition and major economic setbacks to finish it. Not knowing that God had big plans for this place.
As the weeks went on, dozens of children were attending Bible study. Mrs. Amparo realized she could not do this alone and called her daughter Natalia and her son in law Felipe to help.
The number of children continued to grow and other people began to volunteer their time and serve. However, in 2020 as the global pandemic ramped up, Mr. Horacio was diagnosed with cancer and the family had no choice but to leave their home and put the property up for sale or rent, whichever came first.
Natalia and her mother continued to pray faithfully that God would keep the children studying the Bible somewhere somehow. One day, as they were driving to sign over the lease papers to the new renters, they received a phone call. A married couple, who had served in the community with them, called to see how the ministry was coming along. When they heard the situation, they did not want the Bible studies to stop. The couple said, “rent it to us to keep the ministry going, we have 3 months of rent and God will have to provide for the rest”.
Ever since, donations have poured in from all over the world to keep our doors open. God has continued to bless this community not just by keeping the doors open but by growing new ministries never thought possible.
Today there are more than 1,000 children registered with the organization, more than 150 moms and many dads who attend faithfully every week to hear God’s word. Through God’s grace, Horacio the man who built the house where Aire stands today beat cancer and visits the community every time he can.
Come and join what God is doing through Aire Eterno as He faithfully expands His kingdom here on Earth.
